Canterbury Unveils First-of-its-Kind In-Facility Ventilator Unit in Richmond

Canterbury Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center in Richmond recently inaugurated a specialized Ventilator Unit, the first of its kind in the region. The 18-bed, in-facility suite is designed to treat patients dependent on ventilators, tracheostomies, or with severe respiratory conditions. Led by board-certified pulmonologist Dr. Omair Tahir and respiratory care director Quyen Duong, the unit offers 24/7 respiratory therapy coverage, focusing on vent weaning and management. The skilled nursing facility‘s modernization also includes a forthcoming dialysis unit and expanded therapy gym, showcasing its commitment to advanced care.
